Gypsum plasters as a rule require no reinforcing fabrics. However, the employment with instable backgrounds or change of material is worth recommending. Reinforcing fabrics are no plaster carrier and cannot take over their function!
The reinforcing of plasters serves for the
minimisation of cracks to a non-damaging degree, e.g. with a change of material
in the background. Structurally determined crack formations, for
example as a result of sagging of ceilings and backgrounds or deformation of
load-bearing structural members due to shrinking, creeping and temperature
cannot be prevented by plaster reinforcement.
